Reggie McNeal, QB. Texas A&M

Reggie McNeal
6'2", 209. 4.35

Info:
Has rare speed for someone of any position, let alone QB...strong arm with a quick release...Can move outside the pocket and throw on the run...Can run well both in traffic and in space, giving defensive coordinators nightmares...Very raw in the passing game, but has shown enough flashes of brilliance to have NFL teams willing to gamble on him as both a QB and WR prospect.

Projected Draft Position:
3rd Round
64 - Steelers
4th Round

For Kicks:
Has the same skill set as Antwaan Randle El in a larger frame; however, Reggie's running ability was displayed much less often during college and is still a question mark. Nevertheless, out of high school he was universally regarded as a better prospect than both Vince Young and Marcus Vick. His production in college (2,000 passing yards, 750 rushing yards, 2:1 Ratio this year) is certainly noteworthy.

Expect him to likely change position and become a Wide Receiver. Until then, he will certainly get a good look at QB since his arm strength, quick release, and mental acuity give him the potential to be an NFL Signal-Caller.

"I trust Reggie so much with the football that I'm not afraid to make four vertical calls from our one-yard line because I know he'll take care of it. He won't take a sack if he sees the guy coming at all. Even if he doesn't see him, he still may make him miss. He'll take care of the football, and won't force it. He just lets us be a little bit more courageous in some of our calls because we have such a confidence factor in him."
- Dennis Franchione, A&M Coach

Was a four-year Academic All-American in Track during his high school years in Lufkin, Texas. His senior season, he placed 3rd at the Texas State Finals in both the 100m and 200m dash.
